An invariance principle for random planar maps

We show a new invariance principle for the radius and other functionals of a class of conditioned ‘Boltzmann-Gibbs’distributed random planar maps. It improves over the more restrictive case of bipartite maps that was discussed in Marckert and Miermont (2006). As in the latter paper, we make use of a bijection between planar maps and a class of labelled multitype trees, due to Bouttier et al. (2...

A Strong Invariance Principle for Associated Random Fields ? ?

In this paper we generalize Yu’s [Ann. Probab. 24 (1996) 2079–2097] strong invariance principle for associated sequences to the multiparameter case, under the assumption that the covariance coefficient u(n) decays exponentially as n → ∞. The main tools that we use are the following: the Berkes and Morrow [Z. Wahrsch. Verw. Gebiete 57 (1981) 15–37] multi-parameter blocking technique, the Csörgő ...

An Invariance Principle for Brownian Motion in Random Scenery

We prove an invariance principle for Brownian motion in Gaussian or Poissonian random scenery by the method of characteristic functions. Annealed asymptotic limits are derived in all dimensions, with a focus on the case of dimension d = 2, which is the main new contribution of the paper.

An Invariance Principle for Random Traveling Waves in One Dimension

We consider solutions to a nonlinear reaction diffusion equation when the reaction term varies randomly with respect to the spatial coordinate. The nonlinearity is either the ignition nonlinearity or the bistable nonlinearity, under suitable restrictions on the size of the spatial fluctuations. It is known that the solution develops an interface which propagates with a well-defined speed in the...

Invariance principle for the Random Conductance Model

We study a continuous time random walk X in an environment of i.i.d. random conductances μe ∈ [0,∞) in Zd. We assume that P(μe > 0) > pc, so that the bonds with strictly positive conductances percolate, but make no other assumptions on the law of the μe. We prove a quenched invariance principle for X, and obtain Green’s functions bounds and an elliptic Harnack inequality.
